Update 2 (9-14-2020)


Whitebox has been completed and the game's core mechanics are in place!

Two rounds of playtests have finished and the feedback was implemented directly into the level and influenced changes going forward. Many people said that the climbable objects were not made explicitly clear, so I implemented the up arrow at the start to give a hint towards the button input and the direction in which to progress. I also increased the player's jump height and decreased gravity, as well as fixing the issue with the character slightly floating off-ground, which should make the platforming smoother.  

The placement of some traps was too brutal for some players and so I have decreased their area of effect or rearranged their placement in the level (some may be removed entirely, depending on how the development process goes forward). Initially I had planned on implementing a hunter enemy that would patrol around, however within the context of the level (which seems to have a fair challenge already), I found it unnecessary. 

Next up is art assets and sound design, and I can't wait!
