Overview (Noah) (10-15-2020)
I'm Noah, programmer and also 1/3 of the full development team. Is my colleague Jackson mentioned in his post, this game is in its early stages right now with top down layouts done and white boxing starting this week. This game has got me super excited though.
As mentioned by Jackson. our layout consists of our main level and the three memory scenes. I'll be breaking down the first half of our main level. You will start off in a room with boxes and a button. There will be instructions telling the player how to pick up items. This will be needed to move a box on a button and hold a door open. Next, you gain your push ability from the memory which Jackson described more in his post. With it, you take a box and push to a button that the player themselves can not reach. In the next room, we will have weak walls or windows that the player can push a box through to reach the next button. In the next room they will get their next memory of being able to pull things from far away. I will let our final team member finish off the layout design in his post, so look out for that.
As for my role on this project, I will be handling a lot of the mechanics, mainly the telekinesis. I have found some helpful tutorials be the starting point for my work. I will also be scripting other things depending on necessity and implementation of course.
I am extremely thrilled to be putting this together and can not wait for others to play it.
