First Playtest (10-21-2020) (Jackson)
Our first public playtest was on Monday, the 19th. We got some constructive and interesting feedback regarding how we should progress forward. I missed it during my run of the level, but many testers brought to our attention that there were tiny gaps in between some platforms/planes or missing colliders that allowed them to slip and fall with no way of getting back. This will be fixed shortly. We also heard that the level's overall scale felt too small in relation to the player for the environment we're trying to create, which echoes our concerns as well. This is also due to some time constraints and a lack of as much progress as we'd hoped, however the project is still in its early stages and has plenty of room for improvement.
On the positive end of the spectrum, many people loved the difference in elevation throughout our level, including both the main area and all of the memory sections, and expressed excitement about our future city landscape that will be developed once art assets are created/implemented. I myself am also hyped for how this game is going to look, in no small part due to our talent in the art department, Ian.
As we continue to playtest going forward, I feel that the adjustments and improvements on this project will result in a very concise and polished final product, and I can't wait for how this will all end up.
